Tone Audio Works is a London-based sound design and mixing studio specialising in audio for advertising across TV, cinema, radio and online.
Founded by Tony Rapaccioli in 2026, Tone Audio Works is built on nearly four decades of experience crafting sound for some of the industry’s leading agencies, production companies and brands.
The journey began in 1987 at the legendary Malcolm Bristow Studios in Soho, where Tony got his first break as a tea boy for acclaimed sound mixer Malcolm Bristow. It was an era long before the safety nets of plug-ins, endless undo buttons and automated workflows — a time when great sound depended entirely on instinct, technical skill and trained ears.
Those early years provided a priceless education in the art of mixing, sound craft and voice-over direction, laying the foundations for a career shaped by creativity, precision and collaboration.
In 1992, he joined The Tape Gallery as an assistant sound mixer during one of the industry’s most exciting periods of technological change, as audio production moved fully into the digital age. Working at the forefront of that transition brought opportunities to work on groundbreaking projects, including the first commercial Dolby Digital cinema mix for BBH’s iconic Levi’s “Creek” campaign in 1993.
In 2002, he joined Wave Studios London as Senior Sound Designer and Dolby Mixer, leading cinema mixing projects while collaborating with outstanding clients, agencies and directors on a wide range of award-winning commercial work.
Following the closure of Wave London at the end of 2025, the time felt right to bring together decades of experience, relationships and knowledge into a new independent venture — and so Tone Audio Works was launched in January 2026.
